The startup of activities of the day was led by the Secretary of Health in the state, James Gomez Montes, who said that from 24 to 28 September an intense promotion of preventive actions among young people from 10 to 19 years will be developed in schools , forums, health fairs and information modules.
It is reported that the information and guidance lectures are focused on topics such as nutrition, to avoid them to fall in eating disorders like bulimia, prevention of addictions, such as smoking, which causes chronic bronchitis, emphysema and cancer, prevention of accidents, most of them related to alcohol consumption.
It is claim that they are also raising awarneness on the responsible exercise of sexuality to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases such as HIV / AIDS, oral health and crime prevention, among other topics.
As part of the opening ceremony, the secretary gave awards to the six groups of Adolescent Health Promoters that are known to have been nationally accredited after covering a total of 28 sessions obtaining a satisfactory result in the evaluation, this is important, after all it is presume that they are the first in the country to be accredited.
